It was fun while it lasted!

I'm only partially sorry to duck out on everyone like this. I mainly rolled Berr because I wanted to try to return to SK for the primary purpose of seeing how the end-game PvE of SK has changed, and I really wasn't interested in the PK-side of things at all. Unfortunately, I chose a pretty lousy cabal/trib combo for that, but I still am really glad that I rolled Berr and got to play a swashbuckler, as this was my first GM swashie ever.

The time constraints that Berr was going to start putting on me now that the PK aspect started picking up was basically going to mean that I was going to go inactive, or I was going to do a lousy job, and I'm really not interested in either. I was already less than enthused at the sheer amount of time required to go through the end-game PvE content, and after finishing the iron citadel with all the changes, I think this is a good time me to bow out.

So long and thanks for all the fish!

Sad panda.

I only came back because you kept talking about the game to me and it made me want to try some of the new stuff. Enjoyed rolling a character and doing the end game areas with you. Good times. :drunk:

From what I saw, Berr was one of the primary driving forces behind team lightie, sad to see you go. Maybe remake as a not-swashbuckler.

Sorry to see you go.

From my perspective, and I bet a lot of other peoples as well, Berr was a cocktail of a very liked character and at the same time one of the most successful characters the past years, when it comes to PK and leadership. This cocktail is rare in SK, where successful characters in the PK arena are often toxic individuals who care little about anything else than them winning a fight.

From what I gather a few toxic players have returned to play and will sour the game for a while, while they only think about winning the game mechanics wise. More will probably go inactive now, due to the loss of Berr and the fun gameplay he represented. A pity. I know I will have less reason to log on and I really don't feel like dealing with salty people who don't care about the general gameplay enviroment, who will probably be the dominating factor in the game the coming month or two.

Cheers, Edoras. Well done, while it lasted :drunk:

obviously not as good at pk as u thought he was, but he's no slouch either. sad panda that he retired b/c would have liked to fight him more.

Edited in the attribute and score.

I wouldn't have minded fighting you either, Finney, but as mentioned, I just don't have the stomach for PK anymore. The amount of time required in addition to all the silliness as to what's OP really just makes that aspect un-fun for me. I get my PK-hunger satisfied by league of legends, not by SK. Games only take a half hour and they're almost always even.

I don't really intend to re-roll, by the way. If I come back it will likely be much later, I couldn't even get myself into playing any alts during Berr just because I always had something to grind, like putting 60 obsidian in the tribunal accounts because of the perpetual drops in balance from 3 wars that I didn't want.

However, with regard to swashbuckler, I think the class is actually pretty good now. It's very active and fun to play, and while you're absolutely hosed if you ever end up fighting a second row MR barb with a massive weapon, that's pretty much true for anyone anyway. I think that swashies are in a good place, PvP-wise, now that the earplugs have been removed.

I am very sorry to see Berr go. The truth is the numerous beat downs he gave me early on were a big reason I kept playing. Berr set the benchmark for me that I am still trying to attain. Jomino is my first character. I didn't have a clue what PvP was going to be like until the first time Berr killed me. Each time I tried to understand why Jomino did so poorly, which led me to learn more about game mechanics, tactics and just plain how to play.

I know this is probably a surprise to you, but I always respected Berr, at times more than anyone else in the game. I was really hoping to have many more battles with him. It was fun, even though I almost always lost.

I just wish he would have stopped holding Daravien's actions against Jomino. :P

tbh Berr (And I) liked Jomino a lot too. I knew it was your first character, Berr was much more angry at you than I personally was because he had always wanted you to be on his side.
