This is a tangent, but with regards to griffons: The only intelligent griffons are good-aligned. I won't touch upon which stories are true and which are false, but the various creatures that resemble griffons on the other side of the alignment spectrum never have more than bestial intelligence. They aren't people, they are monsters.

I'll leave you to speculate whether that's because they are a different sub-species or whether griffons that turn away from the light go mad and lose their minds or possibly a combination of the two.

I agree with you, that's why I used the word peaceful to describe the government.

Well, I've said what I wanted to say, I've [REDACTED] up pretty good apparently. Sucks no one made me aware I was playing this horribly from the start, or I would have gladly deleted sooner. Just finish up picking apart everything I have done or stated wrong, I'll wait half a week or so before I delete. I know when I've lost, and apparently don't know when to keep my mouth shut.

For now I think I'll go play some good ol' HL2dm or TF2, satisfy that growing urge to kill. Steam ID: the_killbot if anyone cares to take a break for some fun and smack-talk.

Then you really need to lower max int for griffons.

Okay. I see your point Marfik. You obviously want to start policing the RP of alignments. So who is next? I can think of about ten character right now who people have bitched endlessly about how their rp goes against their alignment. This is the problem you have created Marfik and one that will haunt you for the rest of your time as an IMM. You have created a precedent of the IMM staff to enforce RP to an alignment (something that I haven't seen done for a very long time on SK) and people will continue to expect you to favor their side of what RP should be and they will pester you forever about it. At on point, you are going to have to favor one opinion over the other and then more accusations of favoritism will flourish.

I understand what you did Marfik and why you did it. Question though, if you say Scrup griffins can be in your faith, why did you remove her from your faith for a RP rules violation? Why not use blemish command or curse her a few levels? Why take something IC, that you can only explain OOC? You have to admit you did the most extreme thing you could have done to her IC, short of actually deleting the pfile yourself. That is why I am in an uproar. This to me seems like you are just picking a straw up out of a pile of straws and then complaining it is a piece of straw. Please explain this in away that doesn't make you look like you have no idea what you are doing.

Scrup griffons are allowed to be Marfikians.

Anarchist characters are allowed to be Marfikians.

Allegedly, she played her scrup griffon as an anarchist (inherently subjective, I might add) - and she was removed from the faith as punishment.

Wait, what?

Addendum: I might add that as long as there is not suddenly an imposition of alignment restrictions for Marfikians, this doesn't tick me nearly as much. Now it's "just" an injustice against a single player, not against the faith.

There was an IC action taken, with an IC thread that could've been followed up afterwards. The player chose not to.

There's a difference between generally playing within your alignment and essentially playing quite far away from it. The character in question was definitely playing a character of a different alignment than the one stated when she created the character in the first place. There's been a good amount of discussion already as to why events unfolded as they did. I suggest you read up so that you aren't restating previous arguments.

To that note, there have been cases of people being told to play within their alignment. This happens to be one of the more visible ones.

Thank you for a timely response Marfik. Just to let you know, I have been reading up and know what is said here and I know that is not the full story. That is why I asked questions, based solely on the information found here.

Like I said though, I understand your point and reasoning, I just think the punishment was harsh is all.

I don't think this situation could've been handled a "right" way. Even if she were just cursed every time they saw RP they felt was against her alignment people would be calling foul.

The thing about this that bugs me is I remember when Zavijah stopped taking greys one of the HF's was a grey and didn't even want to be in the church at that point. I can't remember the name, but I'm sure others remember him. I think he even remained HF despite obvious IC attempts at getting out of the faith. There was also that big stink some time ago when Lyara (I think it was Lyara) invested a deep-elf into Aludra. Aside from the uproar on the forums did anything happen there? Was the deep-elf punished in some way that I'm unaware of?

It seems like getting an F2/F3 flag removed from a person who is clearly abusing it or has steered away from the faith is a pain in the neck, but for an alignment issue she was kicked out of the faith. It really could've been handled with curses, immortal guidance, and some action on the part of lighties.

From what I've seen of the_me's characters I'm sure that he/she would've been willing to learn and continue to move forward. Instead the character was made an incredibly rare exception.

Does anybody remember the last time a person had a religion flag removed that wasn't accidentally given? (i.e. HF/leader types invest instead of induct)

You mean FOWL, amirite? :P

I'm with Tetra, though. Seriously, that's a bit much.

How about the current Alshain follower who refuses to face his fears? I mean seriously. Let's not go removing religious flags.
