Adepts of the Blood Path

Little is known about this cult of evil, magic-using creatures, the few facts
coming from the priests of the God of Knowledge.  They teach that the Adepts
believe that a creature's life force is in its blood and that, by the proper
sacrifical rituals, the force may be stolen and used by another.  No group
within the realms is as evil or ruthless as the Adepts of the Blood Path.
Many who seek knowledge of their evil ways, looking to be initiated into
their number, find themselves in the midst of a dark rite of sacrifice, not
as supplicant but as the sacrifice itself.
The Adepts have faded into extinction.
