Halfling warriors are better than human ones in a lot of ways (especially their 22 dex, vs humans 20 [excepting swashbucklers]). They're only really beaten out by half-elves as far as barb/merc goes, making it a three-way tie between halfers, dwarves and giants.

As for this best race/class thing, make yourself six characters of every race and write down the numbers for each stat. Then write down their vulnerabilities and strengths. Then you don't need to ask silly questions like "What are the pros and cons of every race and class?"

A long time ago in a SK not to far away I played a hafling merc who could solo the blue fytriskis solo at vetren. This was before and after the mummies under morea could cast spells

To be honest I forgot his name but maybe someone may remember him
- He would buy the box in the gnome city and dacne to the songs
- Cyra may remember me I was one of the first people to interact with him. He was a human merc at the time.
- He won the who is the best race contest and got a sweat sweat item only to have it taken from him because it was to sweat.

I played a GM halfling merc as was mentioned above, Woaral. He was a keeper. I'd say they are as good as anyone else besides helfs who are the best imho. I had some modest success in PK, thanks alot to Ariacron, Dalryn, and Mitchs GM of the week which ever it was I forget.

They are weak vs blunt but no one ever really tried to take advantage of that in PvsP so I basically got all the benifits of halflings and never really any of the minuses. Hide and sneak is pretty nice too on a merc, especially early on.

I don't remember flaming on this thread. I think someone's being a little overzealous again, Alshain.

The mummies being able to cast spells were due to a code change to the NPC AI. The fytrysks becoming so much harder were due to a building change in their design, and was some time after the mummies learnt to spell.

I doubt a veteran halfling could solo them now.

It's totally sweat that you could kill the fytryskis at vetren, Kerrien. You almost make me want to dacne a little jig.

It's the forum's paternal instincts kicking in, protecting you from yourself.

Thing I've always found really odd is that it won't allow own, but will allow a whole range of other obscenities. Perhaps the forum just has something personal against prawn! ???
