Without giving away anything else other than this is a quest, how are you supposed to answer the trapper?

I've tried this quest with a couple different characters, and have tried to answer, but to no avail.
I did the whole "My answer is..." thing, but nothing seems to work...

In the past, I've always used "XXX is guilty."

But its been a while so I can't really help you outside of that.

You have to send the trapper a tell. Tell Trapper Burton is guilty.

Btw: Burton is an example and not the right answer.

Correct.

There is a similar oft-reported "bug" with a certain rogue's quest in Teron. People often complain that the quest doesn't work because they forget to reply to the NPC rather than speak out loud.
