Both Darkie and Lighties have their drawbacks. For a starter I would say lightie or gray. As a darkie youll pretty much never use holy word. I never did... well once and that ended bad(controlled undead in group).

I would suggest being a lightie in a gray religion.

As for races. Try a human. You will be good on the wis and intelligence. The same ammount a centaur gets. You wont be as physically strong, but then again you wont have the fire weakness or the crappy dex.

Since none of these [REDACTED] want to answer your question, put your anarchist in uxmaln. The training place there is far better than zhenshi(too few rooms/NPCs) and in uxmal you are close to your next training grounds, which for you should be the roaring lion with a maul and with a pet(mule=8 east of the teron center)/friend to heal and take the hits.

PS healing = xp, remember that and you will do fine.
