Because you would have to be a priestlock :P

I think you would have to be more of a NecroLockPriest - Why else would you be healing the ghost with your harm spell?

But you can understand whether or not someone's nodding their head. It shouldn't have to do with whether or not you know the language. I know people might abuse this, but I haven't seen anyone abusing it...

That's why nod is a social. It works regardless of language.

some of the socials are really stupid - and so I prefer to emote a few of the socials instead of use the socials themselves. Like wave. I don't always wave "happily". Sometimes I wave nonchalantly, or dismissively, or sometimes I'm waving in annoyance. Sometimes I'm waving at someone, but not necessarily in a happy manner. Very seldom, do I actually happily wave at someone.

If the majority of people find a social unuseful, we can certainly change the social. They can be updated very quickly.

I know what Goldlantern is saying, and I also avoid the wave social. On some MUDs they have adverbs to go with socials, such as > bow gracefully, nod slightly and so on. I wonder if we will ever have that in SK.

Anything that lets you add text that gets output to other people is no longer a social. It allows the same language abuse issue and gets grouped in the emote category.

Someone mentioned they have never seen someone try to abuse emotes. Well that's because we have the language code. Trust me when I say that until it was added, people abused it every day.

emote draws Pekaran symbols (the universally understood gnomish trade writing) in the dirt - "Message."

Hey, while we're at it, could you screw with the "point" social a bit? It's kind of hard to do a big, ominous pointing gesture at your next intended victim when you're pointing excitedly like a little kid. Maybe just "XXX points at YYY."
