That might help. Ooo. It's like a riddle. I want to figure out how to make it work for you. :P

Okay, here's one of the items: a glass practice wand.

I can't see the word 'practice' when I have colour on. I think the colour is bold dark grey, but reassigning that colour doesn't have an effect, and it doesn't show up if I change the background colour, and dark grey would show up on something lighter.

Hmm. I think this is beyond me. You're right, are having trouble seeing dark grey.

Perhaps an IMM (or more knowledgeable mortal) will come in and help out,

That being said, playing without color isn't much of a detriment (besides seeing some of the wonderfully colored room descriptions we have). The only thing you won't be able to tell is what language someone is speaking in, which is easily learned by simply asking.

Sorry I couldn't help more.

Well, I seem to have beaten the problem into submission.

If you want, I can give you the color schema I use in PuTTY. Given what has already been said, I doubt that will get you far. I have a feeling this is something with your client - a programming bug of sort. I'm not sure what it is, but given the fact that this is the first time I've heard of this client, I doubt its supported anymore and it might be a good time to upgrade.

PS Glad to hear its working.

Uh, no, it's absolutely being supported right now and the fix to the problem was actually to upgrade to a newer (unstable, but as I'm not really a scripter, which is what this client does best, I'm not anticipating problems) version of the client.

D'oh. I totally didn't think of upgrading. Well done on figuring it out.

Not exactly relevant to your problem, but just for perspective, I'd recommend looking at other color schemes to see how yours compares, lest you have something wildly off.

This thread is a pretty decent place for that.
