I have a question, the dwarf helpfile no longer mentions the fact that it's hard for a dwarf to learn anything. Do they still have their pentalty to skill/spell advancements and exp? Or was that wiped out in the dwarf buff. If it's still there can the helpfile be fixed or is that gone?

I had a max CHA(21) Dwarf scout after Asmodai. He certainly seemed to gain exp a lot slower than any of my other characters. He was also the only character I've ever maxed charisma on, so that's comparing his EXP gain rate to characters with charisma usually in the 11-15 range.

I never noticed a harder time at gaining xpz with a dwarf.

This is a bit off-topic. From my experience, having a higher charisma score does not help with leveling at all in the great scheme of things, if solo. Getting more experience in the same amount of time, yup, but familiarity kicks in sooner, and there's only so many areas.

Thankfully there is that grouping change where familiarity is synchronized to the group member with the least level. This feature is godsend. PS. Need more areas!

I do believe the original question involved the 'you improve at' ticks. It has been a long time since I had a dwarf but I definitely remember the slow ticking of skills.

That is determined by INT rating, which on a dwarf even when maxed, is fairly low.

It was also determined by dwarfness at one point. My (smarter) dwarf ticked more slowly than my (stupider) giant.

Yes, that's true. That's why I'm bringing this up. Dwarves used to tick skills/spells slower then other races and they used to gain exp slower. That's not mentioned in the help file anymore and it was previously stated in the help file before the dwarf buff. So I'm wondering if that still applies to dwarves or if it was removed when dwarves were buffed.

I have no problem with mastering skills with my dwarf. Just wear a lot of INT mods while fighting.

I'm not saying it's a problem. I'm just asking if they did away with the penalty. It was never impossible for a dwarf to level or learn, they were just penalized for it as part of their race. They don't mention that in the new help file so I'm wondering if it's been removed as part of the dwarf buff or if they just forgot to put it back in.

They used to gain exp and tick skill spells at a slower rate then other races and now it doesn't say that anymore in the help all I'm asking is if it's an oversite in the helpfile or if that part of the dwarf race was removed when they were buffed so more people would play them.
