Trying to figure out why he looked alone in formation but instead was grouped up.

Because if you glance at someone it only shows who is behind them not to the side of them.

It shows both who is in front and who is behind them.

It would be nice if glance did show if someone was to the left of someone, or to the right, but I doubt it is a priority for Dulrik.

Moral of the story:

Use the follow command on the NPCs in the room to see if they are following someone. This will mean they are grouped 90% of the time
