It's a fairly minor advantage considering the abundance of herbs/items that give infravision as well as the fact that anyone in a tribunal has access to infravision. It is an advantage, though.

I guess I also thought half-elves meant a lowered vulnerability. But what about iron vs cold iron vs steel vs tanso? Does the iron content make for more damage?

Only iron and cold iron do extra damage against half-elves, elves, deep-elves and sprites. Ironguard is a bit of a misnomer in that it not only applies to iron and cold-iron, but also to steel and tanso steel as well.

So ironguard protects against all four, but the elfish blood vulnerabilty only applies to iron and cold iron?

Wow, between Dulrik's revelation and this, I was obviously way off. I guess I must have taken the ironguard helpfile and applied it to elven vulnerability. Thanks to all, for the clarifications.
