So... pretty much all the deities I've had interest in being a priest under are cloth armor but Nashira. Bearing that in mind just because, I was wondering what everyone's recommendations for weapons are for a priest? Are there any staves long enough to grant reach from behind a pet? Is pole-mace the only priest-proficient weapon that this can be done with? Does anyone have a weapon they would particularly recommend using, or discourage using?

Until you are doing pvp, polemace is fine. When you reach the higher levels though, you will most likely be using staves. Train on undead with cure light though... That is your real weapon.

Pole-mace is your best bet since you can sit in the middle row and kill with it until veteran. After that, your best bet for training efficiently is to use spear of faith vs opposite aligned NPCs. Training on undead with curative spells is costly and doesn't yield too much xp. I assume by 'staves' you were referring to a staff category weapon and not the magical devices meant for brandishing. Unfortunately there are no staff weapons that provide reach.

Healing undead is INCREDIBLY fast leveling. You can stack levels like pancakes that way. The problem is finding the level appropriate undead.

That's exactly what I was asking about. Thank you.

I didn't notice much difference in training with curative spells either once recuperation time was taken into account, but bolt of glory seems fantastic for that.

Looks like for the weapon weapon part though, it's going to stay pole-mace then.

Thanks for the help! :D

Priests don't need weapons. They're a caster class, and you get far more xps leveling with spells than you do trying to melee things to death. A good rule of thumb is that if you don't have third attack, you have no business using a weapon.

Use a steel staff from Exile newbie store enchanted for damage until you get to apprentice. Use cure light on some undead to get to journeyman, and then use flamestrike until you get to veteran. Then explore areas to get to high veteran. Then use spear of faith to GM.

So use a staff, then use spells. Don't bother hitting things with a polemace. By the time you're fighting things that can hurt you, you should be high enough level to use spells. Use spells. Not polemace.

Pole-mace or not, Nashira is a great choice.

Love,
Nashira
