Thank you for your help. I guess this would bring me to my next question.. How do you join a religion? Do you do it thruogh the pray command, and just ask to be accepted?

Look for people with titles that speak of such faiths - i.e. in Mezcao's examples, for Achernar look for the River, Time, Scarabs, things associated that way. For Sadal you'd want Fate, Weave, Luck, Storms...type help gods for the list of the gods and their spheres, and they should put you on the right track.

Don't be afraid to send tells - characters in religions should be willing to share the word of their faith, and usher a seeker into the fold of the flock. Also, you can set your own title to show that you are seeking - a more passive way, but still should be effective.

Be prepared with IC reasons why you want to join that faith - characters don't (or shouldn't) have to jump through hoops to be invested, but they shouldn't be invested too lightly either. When you're in a faith, you're sworn to that god for life, so you'll be questioned on beliefs, reasons for seeking, etc.

If you absolutely can't find someone associated with the faith you're interested in, then I'd think try the prayer command, or I've seen people post on the Pantheon thread for such issues, although I don't know if that's encouraged.

When you find someone to speak to.. Tell them you want to join XXX religion and chances are they will at least send you to someone in that curch of not the actual leader..

... Also... Change your title... To something like..
Seeking XXXX

Do both and chances are you cant go wrong.. Give it about a week or two and you should be in.. if not then you can always pray... It is a last resort thing when trying to get into a religion...

Actually, I'd avoid changing my title. As a newbie, you have the title "New to Pyrathia", which lets us experienced players know you aren't familiar with the gameworld. That gives you some slack if in ignorance you do something that would normally earn a harsh IC response.

Talking to members of the religion is the right thing to do. Send a tell to anyone whose title even suggests anything to do with the religion. They'll let you know if they're not members. Once you know enough to make a choice, make a definite statement you want to join. That should get you an interview with a church leader fairly quickly. (Something's wrong if it doesn't happen within a week.)

If your IC decision to join a church is knowledgable and firm, and your character meets the church's alignment/class/race requirements, you're going to get in. The process isn't roleplayed as if it were your right to join a church, but high priests need an awfully good reason to turn someone away.

Talking to people in-game is definitely the best advice. Skimming the thread, I didn't notice if anyone explained the 'who' command - it lets you see who else is playing so that you can send them a tell by name.

And although it doesn't directly help in searching for skills, I wanted to take this opportunity to mention that we now have maps for each starting city and newbie area on our website. Just having an idea of the layout for an area can sometimes give you clues on where to search for trainers.

some imperials that you can look for that are very helpful would be

Slayne <---which is me by the way

Trakeakus
Senach
jeruvere

using the mentor command works too if there are any imperials online. I'd like to see the mentor command extended to search for appropriate nation members online and if no one of the empire is on, it extends to neighboring cities like uxmaln or krychire.

Anyway, look for those for names on the who list.

Also you can send me a pm on the forums at any time if you want some advice or help that I can help you here with or if you'd like to set up a meeting ic.

as stated before, use the who command to list all the players then you can type tell <player name> to speak directly to them. If all else fails ask around to random people until they direct you to someone that can aid.
