"I may be. Why do you ask?"

"I am seeking to learn His will and perhaps to join His mortal church. Can you aid me with either of these tasks?"

"If what you say is true, then [something related to the god]. Meet me in YYY and we may discuss this further"


It is safe to assume that in the howevermany years your character has been alive before joining whatever adventuring newbie school, he's has heard of most if not all of the gods. Let the member tell you the specifics or where you can get books on the subject and to whom you will need to speak to be accepted into the religion.

Titles are considered what you could find out about a character by asking typical NPCs. If a title is ... odd, that usually means the chararcter's reputation is ... interesting.

If it makes you more comfortable to role-play out the rumor-collecting process, go right ahead: Ask a few NPCs or players about faith XXX's priests.

Tells are always IC. (Well, unless you preface them by OOC: or somesuch.) Your character is considered a natural telepath. (The game is just too big to require face-to-face meetings all the time.)

As for the encounter itself, don't worry about it overmuch. Religions are generally delighted to get new players. If you've read the god's help file, and thought about why your character would want to serve him/her/it, you'll do fine.
