As a professor, this thread makes me wince a little, heh. I have enough trouble with students checking e-mails and IMs in class...

As an administrator, I suggest you comply with whatever rules are in place within the organization that you connect from. I do not advocate seeking ways around the restrictions that are in place.

The problem is the teacher, Trust me...half the classs transferred out the first day and the ones who were dumb enough to stay have pretty much all spoken to the dean about him... I dont think he will be here for a second quarter... Nice guy, just bad teacher...

Anyway, I began to carpool with my brother and a friend, so I will have some more time just hanging out there... And I dont always have friends there to talk to all the time so it would be nice to play around... If not for SK I might waste the time doing homework or something :lol:

I've actually done this successfully to get around a work firewall. Its pretty amazing what you can do with a standard Linksys WRT54G running dd-wrt. I didn't need a second machine at all. All I had to do was use my router as a tunnel, and I was fine. It even has built in support for tools like DynDNS. If you don't have any way to do this, what you have to do is set up a machine on the outside of the network to act as your tunnel. Its not terribly complicated, and I'm sure google could bring up good results...

Meztiso,

Basically, what I'm saying is, do a little research. What your going to need to do, is set up something on the outside so that you can connect to that machine. (Be it, a router or a computer). This machine will receive your internet traffic over a different port (i.e. one that is open on your school network) and forward it to the SK server over port 1996. It receives the SK traffic, and re-directs it back to you over the port your using to connect to it. This is also referred to as tunneling. Theres tons of information on it if you want to read about it. Your going to have to do a bit of work to get it working correctly...

If you don't have a spare machine you can use, and don't have any friends who will help you with it, I suggest you pick up a good reading book, because your out of luck. :wink:

but alright, guess I will be reduced to doing homework in my spare time at school... I just wanted to level up really... Well, thanks anyway...
