Juggs, I totally agree with you.

First case I dealt with myself and the outcome was favourable. I actually enlighted the offended in the end by the way it was all handled after I tracked them down.

Second case... well, [REDACTED] happens. And the fella was not a total jerk and I should not have said moron... he took my coin and left the gear. I think stunning would be more effective though.

I was just saying if I were a newb I would have thought about not coming back. So people should be mindful of their actions, that's all.

Perhaps this is true, but here is a question for you:

Would your RPGaming experience become any richer by adding a new player to your base that simply does not understand how it is to play in a game where evil is evil, there are dangers and costs about the thinks you do or don't, and generally, everything that can stir good RP?

Or would your game and community get ruined by another little whinney-crying child that can not accept the consequences of his in-game actions, or the (annoying often, indeed) burdance of hardships that may occur to one's character because that's the fight between good and evil is?

Just some food for thought. I may sound a bit elitis, but I really would not mind for such a player to be added in my enviroment. History has proven me right, when people like that simply leave the game and it means nothing to us, or people like ie: Othet come in this game and make our experience richer.

You pose a good question sir... with only one minor floor, Othet is as bad at PK as I am, so it is not he that would be the one doing the killing.

Do not think I am against the PK or killing lowbies when it is warranted, but mode stun is your friend.

Honestly, I don't know whether I would prefer that such examples as I listed never happen, or that they happen infrequently. Whatever, in the year or so that I have been playing I know of only a few incidents, so I guess in the end it is not a major problem.

Either way, that fella is toast should I figure out who it was.

I agree completely with the point that lowbs who act bad-ass, are arrogant, insulting, and disrespectful deserve punishment just as much as a GM who is arrogant and insulting, but the difference is a GM can back it up and a lowbie cant, so stun the bastard, maybe take his weapon while stunned and only give it back when he apologizes (i've done this a few times).

Demand respect, because a ghost is only going to resent you, but a person whose life is spared might change his attitude. Just my .02

Unfortunately in this example, the player was experienced, and decided to go OOC to declare his astonishment that I would attack an amatuer who acts like a tough guy.

I would rather logs like this were not posted on the forums, but emailed to me directly. Anybody behaving like this gets a visit to Hell, demoted to level 1, and stripped of all belongings.

I'm the mean evol oppressive lowbie-smiter he's talking about.

Me and my merc bodyguard stopped by Teron on the way to get some things.
I see a guy with imperial wrist guards.
I say, "Would you be willing to answer if I ask where you got those?"
He says, "I wouldn't answer, no." <---Seems like he knows Empire well enough.
I order my merc to stun only and we kill the lowbies camel.
He runs away. <--- We didn't even stun HIM.
We chase him a little with the intention only of scaring him.
I'm satisfied.
We leave.

I figured if I hadn't brought it up, someone else might have PKed him for them. It was a warning of sorts, IMO.

I could tell this guy wasn't a noob and finding out it was Zinfalas didn't surprise me one bit.

I'm all for being courteous to noobs and I try as much as possible to make them feel welcome to the game. If I were a lighty I wouldnt have done anything like that. But I'm a darky, proudly a citizen of the Empire, seeing a guy with wrist guards that belong to the Empire.

It was all for the sake of RP and I probably would have given him money to replace the camel if I thought he was really a newb.
