I used to play way back in the day. Alot has changed since you left so it might take some getting used to. For a new character, it really depends on whether you like caster, warrior or adventure classes. I really liked my bard and managed to hit grandmaster without any huge problems. If not that, a grey aura sorceror or warlock might be up your alley as well. I'm glad to see we have people coming back to the mud after hearing so many people leave. Good luck and welcome back!

I'm another old player returning for the first time since around 1999 or 2000. So many things have changed I have no idea that i'm doing anymore. I wonder if anyone is still around from then?

Boy I miss the days when you could reincarnate into another race, yet keep your original stats, anymore remember that happening to a certain sprite swashbuckler? Do believe he was human(or half-elf?) and reincarnated into a sprite, yet kept his human stats. PeQuylar? And of course the days of everyone enjoying ganking Severin the High Priestess of Yigg.

Who'd you play?

I actually rolled a char on SK in 96 at the behest of a guy named Tarquin (who I believe was later sitebanned). Back in those days, players were migrating in bunches from another mud called Mortal Realms, which was pretty horrid, but as addictive as any other. No RP whatsoever on MR, so I didn't know what to make of SK at first. It took a couple more years before I finally made a clean break and rolled Bux, my first real char. Such notables as Dulrik, Yenko and AE/Reina played on MR in the distant past, interestingly enough. Bunch of others... Passion/Devi... Wonka... Pushing40... Some Aussie couple I couldn't stand...

Speaking of old chars who knew Bux as a newb who may still be playing... Summ/Fresk/Gloif is still around, I believe. Fayne had a char as recently as last year, and may still be playing. Lorias and Tumrall are currently addicted to Warcraft (pfft), but both have been active in the last year. I think Jadow is back, or was back recently, after a long absence? So, yeah, there's still some old-timers around, depending on how you define old-timer.
