A dogmatic in Sadr could work just fine. Dogmatics can follow any set of laws reguardless of alignment. As long as they follow the rules set before them, they can fit into just about any group.

I know that they can work just fine. However, the issue is not so much just the alignment.

What I am about to say does not pertain to this person/character but things I have witnessed in the past. The issue is when someone chooses a grey alignment to avoid certain "drawbacks" to playing a dark alignment and then proceed to RP that grey alignment as if they were evil and expect it to be accepted.

I have said it earlier, with the current RP of the faith, certain things must be met. I never just let anyone in no matter what class they play. If their RP does not fit with being in Sadr's faith, then I point them in the right direction. If they tell me they came to me because every other faith turned them down, then they have to convince me that they are worthy. Granted, this usually does not take all that long, as long as the RP is there (I'm talking usually less than 1 hour of RP which includes investment).

It is my personal belief that the spheres as laid out in the Help Gods file, are all non-alignment specific if you have the RP to support it. I do not know why any faith cannot accept any alignment, but I know that this is the case for the "good" faiths. I know there would be issues with Hellions and Paladins both following Dulrik, but why can't a Hellion honor those same ideals as a Dulrik Paladin? It just never made sense to me. That is why I would rather discuss something that is faith specific within the proper forum (read: faith forum) and through PM with the person seeking and through RP with them, rather than feeling like my IC actions are being judged on an OOC forum by people that are only reading these forums and not seeing any of the IC things that happen.

I'm not judging anyone, just saying it is possible. Simmer down.

Oh, that wasn't meant to sound like a rant at you Fridgeraider, but I can see how it could sound that way. It's just once I said I've talked to the person via PM about it, I expected everyone to drop it from public discussion as I do not see it as something that non-faith people have a say in. I guess my expectations are a bit higher than they should be at times, again, not directed at you, Fridgeraider, but just a general observation.

Not a problem, I didn't want you to think I was coming after you either.

I can just picture what would happen if a new player, not knowing how things worked, came on here and asked about an Aberrant priest joining Dulrik's or Alshain's faiths.

This is the same as that, to me. And for the record, no one has yet to give me a satisfactory answer other than those two faiths are good aligned and Aberrant is evil. Aberrant is honorable evil, and I have seen Paladins of both faiths use some tactics that Aberrant characters use and those same Paladins be applauded for it. It may just be me, but shouldn't the RP of the character, along with the alignment, work for all faiths? I can understand and accept that Paladin and Hellions will never be in the same faith besides Ain's, but why not make the rare exception to the other classes if everything else lines up except the alignment?

Now, before I get jumped on by the masses that post before digesting what they read, that is not me trying to say I want to see necros in Nashira's faith, that just wouldn't work RP wise. But someone who plays, say an Aberrant merc looking to purify the realms of dishonorable people wants to join Alshain's faith, and they have the RP to back it up? Should that be dismissed simply because of the alignment of the character? It would be well within their alignment restrictions to play someone with courage and on a righteous path to purify the realms using the same tactics as a Paladin. Yes, I know the help file says they do take pleasure in killing for the sake of revenge or honor, the key word is or in that sentence. So, someone show me a paladin being played today that does not go out and revenge their death or the death of a friend who was Pk's by any dark aura and I will think twice about suggesting that if one religion should evaluate on a case by case basis auras that are outside the normal for them that all faiths should have to do the same thing.

There's more to the Dulrik faith than honor, discipline, truth.

Also, I have no idea why you're going on about this to such length. It seems very much off-topic. And no, that's not an invitation for another wall of text.

In my opinion, if you opened every faith to every player reguardless of alignment and based soley on the spheres of influence you would unbalance the fight between good and evil. It would also cause stress between members of their own faith due to the varying alignments. I understand how it could work from a logical point of view if you leave out the standard good vs evil RP that is also involved, but good will always fight evil in this game which requires that they both have opposing sides and view points.

I fully understand that, but it is my personal feeling that things relating to religions accepting people should only be discussed in the religion forum. These public forums get too heated too often for level-headed conversations to take place.

I had already posted that I sent the inquiring mind a PM, yet people kept posting that it has been done, it can be done. That is what gets to me is everyone trying to influence religions they are not part of.

So, I would request that this topic die off, it has been dealt with fully. Further inquiries to the faith of Sadr can come to me IC.

And if this sounded like a rant, Fridgeraider, again, it is not meant to. It is just my opinion.
