The ironic thing is that since so many people "cheat" and assume prior knowledge on their current characters, it's easy for my character to avoid doing so since he's accumulated that knowledge from them.

That is why I said, that everyone has 20 million reasons why they are 'not' cheating by knowing all of the elite items, locations, how to get theres and the lore.

Stop doing this. You should assume your elf spent at least 100 years learning to play the flute for guests at Lord Elrond's table, or something equally light and fluffy. I hope elves potty train as fast as humans, but when you have a hundred years before you even grow up, you probably just get really good at the elvish equivalent of video games.
