Yah, I wasn't tyring to pick a fight with you there Adder. I just couldn't think of a more readily available person to point out. The life for a copper thing was just an example. Sorry to critize your particular RP style, but I still think you have some habits to drop from Izigul. That and I wanted to point a finger at how you and Cyquoan are the best PKers and thus the leaders and during the time I lead the cabal I was the only PKer. So I guess it does go hand in hand....

I'm interested to know why somebody (Lamek) telling somebody else (TheIceHellion) to "shut the f*ck up" is not removed if it's in the newbie forum. I'm equally interested to see just what the response was that DID warrant removal.

To bring this back on target though, this is one of the stupidest threads ever. Yegor, you're far too insignificant to [REDACTED] me off. I've never heard of you or your character before, and you can carry on with your whining attitude about people who play to make their characters as good as possible as much as you like.

You're basically saying that in SKs, all warriors should forgo physical training if it means they won't pick up a text on philosophy. No mage dedicated to the mental disciplines should leave his dumbells at home. NEWSFLASH! People do exactly that. If you're a personal trainer? You lift a lot of weights, you don't spend that time reading the encyclopedia britannica. If you're a physicist, you don't challenge yourself to best the weight you can bench.

OH NO! PEOPLE MIN/MAX THEIR STATS IRL!!! LET'S ALL BAND TOGETHER AND MAKE THEM STOP!

There's a saying that I think fits this thread and all the people crying about others who make their characters in a perfectly valid way. "Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds". If you want to make your characters in a mediocre fashion, go ahead. Don't have a cry because other people have more foresight than you, though.

Equally, I have to say I find a lot of the RP from so-called "PK characters" a hell of a lot more refreshing than the garbage I see from fountain-RPers, most of which revolves around
a) dating
b) marriage
c) kids
d) "females" getting drunk and depressed/horny.

If you want to complain about anybody's lack of RP, complain about the RP coming from the people who don't min/max.

For clarification, any post that refers to '[REDACTED]' automatically gets removed. (Rule #1 - No personal insults based on gender, ethnicity, religion, sexuality or disability.) Furthermore, that post was just a flame with absolutely no other content. The post before it was a response, not a flame of itself, and has content within the context of the thread.

Alright, own!:

I'm not trying to get you. I don't care how YOU in perticular play your character. If you can mannage an interesting mage (of any sort) that's also physical, great. Same with Warriors that can think on their feet, or any other idea you might have for a Consept.

If you really want to min/max, fine. SK can easly handle afew Min/Maxed thugs running rampant through lowbies. If you manage to get IC noteriety, it's theoreticaly the duty of the Tribunals, and SOME Cabals to mount opperations against you. There's no OOC lynch NPC being formed.

If in your oppinion, all warriors are mindless thugs. Play a thug. It just gets dull for you faster when you've run out of stereotypes to play.
A list of stats, min/maxed with no other thoughts behind it, is what I would consider a mediocre character. The foresight is in an interesting personality. It doesn't have to involve dating, marriage, kids or females, weather drunk horny and depressed or otherwise.

If SK degenerates to who's list of stats is best suited for PK, this mud will simply die for lack of intrest.

I'm no fan bois but FinneyOwnzU was the first to ever really bring that sort of looking at characters to SK(heavily based around stats/resists), according to other old-school players that I know. Must have been at least 8 years ago when he did, and I haven't seen any bad effects because of that per se. It's just a different way of playing the game. And that's your history lesson for the day, newb (this is in newbie forums, isn't it? :D).

It'd be hard to justify knocking a simple way of making sure that your character doesn't suck and can back up what he/she says, Yegor. I don't know anyone who --wants-- to be a wimp, irl or otherwise.

I suggest you go back to playing in your local LARP or whatever it is you did earlier. In any regard, it's pretty pathetic that you get off on telling other people how to RP or play their characters. You're like that really annoying know-it-all kid we've all known at one point or another that just doesn't know when to shut his mouth. Give it a break.

For myself, I plan on building my character however the hell I feel like, and then RP'ing however I feel like as well. Loquacious giant barbarians (haha, anyone remember that Warrior Poet giant Hammer scout?), oh yeah. And you know what, Yegor? I don't give a flying * if you like it or not, or if you think it's a detriment to the mud. After all, how would you know how a person builds their character anyway?

Whiners like you make me want to puke my *ing guts out.

IMHO some of the best RP comes from those who min/max there stats. Those who do, get good, get renown. I think if you're a mediocre player, no ones going to notice you. I mean, I played a lot of those characters, and yes they can be fun, but then there's those who like notoriety and RPK. No offense to those not falling in that class.

So basically, if you can't PK you aren't worth the bother?

No. When you think about it, the people that can PK are the ones with the "high positions."
