Getting a sorcerer off the ground?

Color spray is ridiculously awesome in certain areas. Moreso as a darkie sorc than a lightie, though.

I started by maxing int and wis, more or less the exact opposite of what Jardek is talking about, and I tried out 4 or 5 chars before the sorc and magic missile blows them all out of the water for pure speed of leveling purposes. I think it was mentioned, but you'll want color spray as well, I got something like 3 levels in 30 minutes in one of the popular leveling areas killing groups of 3-5 NPCs at a time.

Other really useful things for leveling: armor, fly, meditation/trance, the various detect spells, teleport/gate, invis, and etherealform.

One of the NPCs in the Rumbling Zakami inn can train CHA as well.

CHA first = quick leveling.
WIS = big mana pool for leveling.
INT = max it later when you'll need to hold many spells
ART should be maxed
STR = Not necessary, MOD it or get your charms to carry your stuff
DEX = helpful for being dirt kicked (help dirt kicking), MOD it or throw an extra stat in there if you have them.
CON = sorcs should be third row, MOD it if you must.

Mentor command = 1337.
