Newbie question - wisdom increases regen rate? I thought the only thing that affected regen rate was your skill at meditation/trance?

Yes, WIS affects regen rate. I think CON affects PE regen rate.

Does wisdom directly increase your regen rate, or is it just increased because your mana pool is larger?

Making your pool larger would slow your perceived regeneration rate not increase it.
