This post is actually very useful to new players. One of the greatest falling outs for new players is they get caught up in the PK because the RPers don't know what to do with them because they don't have a well developed character.

Don't: I became a priest because I enjoy seeing people more healthy.

Do: I was walking through a hospital one day (Teron if you want) and saw all the sick there. I felt so strongly for those who needed care but could not recieve the aid that I wanted to commit my life to helping those in need. I've done this since, and will continue to do this.

Don't: I became a bard because I love the sound of my own voice.

Do: I think I'm a marvelous singer, better than anyone else. Ever since I was little I wanted to prove I was not just a good singer but the best singer. Since then, I have sought to better myself so that everyone can know my true potential as an artist.

etc.

Actually, I think that would be a pretty fun concept. But I understand what you're saying, there needs to be a bit of meat there, not just a reason to PK.

I see a lot of players who actually come up with too complicated concepts. I generally think of one driving ideology and leave the rest a blank canvass. That way the events that transpire in game affect how my character turns out. A lot of rage deletions or premature deletions happen because players think their character is ruined because they didn't turn out the way they thought they would. I know I've suffered from this.

Could be really awesome. "Want to hear me sing? Watch!" *B augments* *Gets plastered and flees* "OH I'M SORRY! I JUST GET SO EXCITED ABOUT HEARING MY VOICE THAT I CANT CONTROL IT"

And that's a stellar way to get PK'd.
