I once long ago saw this site that took terms from other lanauges and translated them. I pulled a couple of character names off it, but now I can't seem to find it again. Checekd the name help section of playing on the website and the stickes in this forum. If anyone knows what I'm talking about I'd appreciate linkage. |

Alright i know it may seem very veyr very lame, but from some of the trading card game series's suc as Yu-Gi-OH and Magic have really unique names. But i guess that would classify as being against RP rules, considering the second or third question you are asked when making a character. But they are signifigant and i cant see anyone using the same one.... Just a thought |

You are correct that using names like that is against the rules, and we do ask that people change those names when we catch them. |

Two things: 1) It's not hard to come up with an original name. There are literally hundreds of ways to generate random names, several of which can be found online. quick examples: - Download a dice rolling program like Quickdice. Have it roll Xd26 where x is the number of letters you want in the name. Then, assigns each number rolled to it's corresponding letter in the alphabet and see what you get. Don't like it, reroll. - (one I've posted before) Pick a consonant. Pick a vowel. Repeat until you have at least 4 and up to 12 letters. 2) If you really ARE that lazy, at LEAST pick a MINOR character. I've used Taea before on here and no one cared (cookie if you can tell me the series she's from). Also, if you DO resort to this, in NO way should you EVER roleplay AS that character. Things like that are why I think last names should be hard coded as well, so we can lock out all the Do'Urden wannabes. |

In addition, there is a great site, http://www.babynames.com that will allow you to see boys names, girls names, or names that work for either sex. You can search by name meaning, first letter, or even what country you want. It's a great source for easy naming of characters. |

Another suggestion is to google the name that you pick and make sure it has no blatant or popular references that could bite you in the butt later. |
