Twice now I have bought a pet dog. They follow me everywhere I go. Before I go off line I enter save. When I log on the next day my pet is no where to be seen. The second time I even rented a room at an inn, looked, saw my pet, locked the door, slept and saved. I have just loged on again and looking around the room I see no pet. Please help me as I did love my dog.

That's odd, usually when you purchase a pet the only requirment for it to be there when you log on is that you log out in the same room with it.

Next time, make sure it says (Charmed) next to it before you log off, you may have lost the pet and logged out in a room with someone elses pet. It's a bit unlikely, but who knows.

When you say "logged off" do you mean typing the quit command? Or just disconnect(aka idling, voiding, quitting after some time). Because if you do the second option, all your pets dissapear when your character finally leaves SK because your character quits from the limbo room(the void) and your pet is in another room.

Thank you Dark-avenger. That will be where I'm going wrong. Thankyou both for your thoughts.

You should always type "quit" even with pet questions aside because you don't want to stay in the world of SK idling. Its possible you could be killed.

On top of that, you should only ever really use the save command when the MUD isn't very stable and you feel it necessary to save. (You'll understand more about that as you play  Its a lesson that can only be taught by time.)

The quit command auto saves for you.

I disagree, I save everytime I sleep. There is no harm saving way more then need be.

I'm sure he really hates having all those important commands he'd be using while sleeping all lagged up.
