The Idol Room
Twelve burnished figures, each lovingly cast from pure mithril, squat
in alcoves all along this circular room. Small trinkets and offerings
are left on the floor. The walls and floor have been built from a
glossy pale wood of a long-extinct pine. On the far wall is a brass
plaque, bolted firmly into place with iron screws.

Does this affect one's standing in a religion? Should I do somethin' about it? (May be coincidence, but I haven't had a calming and refreshing song soothe my mind for the 20 minutes afterward.)

This happens to clergy types. You can find more IC if you speak to the right people, or even figure it out if you read the right things.

If I had to hazard a guess, I'd say it probably removed your spellcasting ability in that room (your prayers)

Sounds like a fantastic room!

All it did was take away your mana. None of your favor with your god is really gone.

The room is primarily for RP, all it does is sap your mana. It never does anything really harmful no matter who you are.
