Each religion has a number of High Followers associated with it. Scan the list of online players with the "who" command, see if anyone has a title of "follower/priest of magic," and strike up a conversation. Mention your interest in joining the faith, and they'll direct you through the process. But the most important thing you should remember is that joining a religion is permanent, and considered IC the most important affiliation you should make. So "it sounds catchy" won't wash ICly. A bit of research (e.g., "help mira") will get you a long way. |

Yes. Fairly certain that wisdom is a major, if not most important stat for priests and such. As for the god/goddess question, speaking with the followers of a particular religion your character is interested in serving will help more than anything. Looking at the who list is a good idea for finding such followers, as per Nighty's post. |

As far as training goes, the two big attributes for priests are intelligence and wisdom. Intelligence lets you maintain all those nifty spells at one time. Wisdom gives you the mana to keep casting healing spells again and again. Of the two, I'd say intelligence is the most important. If you're unhappy with your levelling rate, charisma affects that directly. Strength can also help you kill things, but once you get to mid-level, priests switch over to spellcasting as the primary source of XP. |
