Is it just me or are barbarian skills rather pricey to train?

Granted some skills shouldn't come cheap, but initiate level skills costing 4 gold a pop? (alertness) A great many others cost over 4 gold per train as well.

The CHA on the character I'm playing is mid-sociable so I don't think it's a stat thing...and I'm pretty sure I didn't pay that much to learn some rather potent spells with Daemaru - like holy word, harm and sanc.

What gives? Am I just going to the wrong trainers?

You're right, they are expensive.

Its int, not cha, which affects the number of times you have to train.

The costly training from NPCs may be done as an encouragement for more interactions between PCs, due to mentor/student system in place.

SK Character: Delear - Maridosen
I see those prices actually reduced.

It's easy for a barb to accumulate wealth. Just go someplace and squish a few things real fast.

Some trainers train higher than others, some skills/spells just require more money to train. I had to drop over 3.4 plat today at a trainer for a couple things I was looking at improving, and they weren't the most advanced trainers either. *shrugs* You could have been at the 'wrong trainers.' I feel I dropped a good chunk of change today myself. But heh, still learning.

I believe if the country is in an recession it makes the trainer prices go up.

I may be mistaken on this but I'm almost positive thats how that works so that could be affecting the prices of your trainer.

Barbs just have plain higher prices from what I remember from the griffon barb I was playing around with.

Wasn't talking number of times, I meant I didn't think my CHA was affecting the price adversely (which I don't think it does anyway, I was just being facetious - wishful thinking, etc.)
