I have been told that logging on and sitting at the message of the day can boost your hours. I've seen it done with some characters, when you can locate items on them, but they aren't on the who list, or invis, hidden, or camo'd.

Is it possible to sit at the motd and clock hours, to avoid losing PAR/Sacred suits/boost your play time?

If so, can it be fixed?

I believe that D has already posted somewhere that the hours that you stay idle on the MOTD do not count on the sum of hours required for flags etc.

If my memory serves, when the minimum time requirements were first introduced for keeping equipment, leadership or high favour flags, idling at the MOTD did used to count towards your monthly total.

This was, predictably, noticed and abused by certain individuals, so Dulrik modified the code so that time spent in the MOTD no longer counted towards anything.

So short answer, it's been fixed for a long while now.

That's true. Same with time spent in the void. Which is why botting your character or using a trigger to prevent voiding is illegal. Whether you're in jail or trying to get those leadership hours, just do it the right way.

All I heard/saw when I saw this was, "Yes, we fully expect you to sit there for the 100 hours you were sentenced."

Meh. Whenever I'm in jail I set up a trigger, go nito quiet mode, and go to sleep.

The punishment for this is deletion. Don't do it.
