I have always wondered if the ability "toughness" let magical protection on armor pieces assist against melee damage, eventhough toughness overrides AC. Help. |

You get the protection of whichever is better, the AC of the item covering a particular bodypart or the skin toughness of that bodypart. Magic does not add to your skin toughness. |

I think he is talking about enchantments on the armor. If for instance, your toughness AC was higher than your suit AC, do you still get the MP or MR from the suit? |

Would be nice of cloth got more enchantments and it worked like that. That way we would see more barbs running around with cloths. |

I understood what he meant. And what I was trying to say was: "no". Magic armor from the suit never stacks with toughness. |

Toughness was added to help allow for Conan the barbarian types. I'm pretty sure I never saw Conan using magic items that protected him with a magical forcefield. He generally just used big magic swords. |
