1) Does anyone know of any good trainers? I've outgrown the academy and it'd be cool if I could interact with people and advance my skills.
Try any major city, most have trainers for things. Also, talk to other players. They'll point you in the direction of other places to learn.

2) Are there any suggestions on what I should focus on first in terms of stats? It seems there's so many options here and I don't want to make my character unplayable.
Most people avoided telling you any of this, but I am A Friendly Guy (tm), so as a GENERAL guide I'll give you "GENERAL RPG ADVICE" that you can use pretty much here (and probably d20 games, and just about any other roleplaying game I can think of):
- Strength makes you hit harder in melee. It also lets you carry more stuff, since, well, you're stronger.
- Dexterity makes you harder to hit and makes you hit more often. You PROBABLY also do more damage in ranged combat. It gave you higher reflex saves in d20.
- Constitution makes you last a hell of a lot longer. You can probably also walk farther. It gave you higher fortitude saves in d20. Out of ANY stat suggestion anyone can ever give you, I can't think of a single reason why you would not want a good amount of this stuff. It makes you die less fast. That's
amazing. And take it from me, I've died a lot.
- Intelligence makes you smarter, so you could probably concentrate on more things and make you a quick learner, so you'd pick things up faster. It helps with spells.
- Wisdom makes you wiser, so you could ... I don't know. I seriously have no idea what this does other than help with spells.
- Charisma makes you more attractive to living things (no, the broom does not think you're attractive, stop trying to dance with it). This includes people and other animals (there's a hint in here, somewhere). Also, and this is actually important and everyone should know this when they make a character, your NATURAL charisma determines how much experience you get whenever you do something that gives you charisma. Having really high natural charisma means you level up damn fast.

3) My friend's starting out here too, he's a shaman, can anyone answer the above advice for a shaman too? Thanks!!!
Hard starting class, but the above stat advice applies the same for shamans. Remember that it's a shaman and they cast spells, so think if you need them to hit very hard or just need them to cast hard instead.
