Hello, I just started playing not very long ago... only a few hours of game time. But I was wondering... I'm in the Ayamaoan Alliance and I'm still in newbie zone... and I'm a necromancer... but umm.... what level do I need to be to train in spells? How do I learn a spell/where? I've gained maybe like 3 levels so far. o_O have do I see what level I am?

A necromancer from the land of the elves? This will be a hard concept to play and it's not something for newbies. Especially since there are no trainers of the dark arts in Ayamao for you to learn your spells.

I suggest you to roll a new character and try to get an evil char in an evil kingdom, or a good one in a lightie kingdom.

If you really want to make a necromancer, Uxmal or Northern Wastes are your best options. Although the newbie area in NW is a bit hard to start at(lack of coins - so try to use the mentor command to learn some cost free spells).

Curses, I was hoping to play one in a fairly neutral land. =/ I guess that explains why I couldn't figure that out.

Wastes is the best option for a new player/necro. Not that necro is an easy concept for -anyone- to play. But from a standpoint of RP, the North is a city run by a "council of necromancers" - historically more aptly named than it happens to be at the moment, and holds a politically empathetic view of the dark arts.

Trainers aren't going to be readily available anywhere else, or past your basic spellset. You're going to have to rely on someone else either way. Going around asking for help finding necromantic spells in the Alliance will simply get you killed.

Good luck, and welcome to SK :)

Priests in my oppinion are the best class to start into the game with. Playing a priest on the light side is vvery good also because You have less requirements for Player Killing and have greater possibilities for Roleplay. Grey is less likely to get the awesome Rp going. Dark gets alot of oppresive roleplay from everyone. A dark priest is usually ruled by stronger characters. Priests generally have pretty open RP and get to put a lot of unique characteristics into themself. They can adapt the teachings of the faith so that it actually benefits themself in many ways.

I'd avoid Necromancers paladins hellion and sorcerors b/c of many difficult things involved either in roleplay, progressing, or battling. Well I hope this helps. If you roll a light priest in Taslamar, you get a cool point though. :P

If you need any help just ask around. The playerbase for the most part is made up of pretty awesome people.

While not nearly as apparent, the Empire is also a valid and reasonable choice for a necromancer as well as Uxmal and Northern Wastes. There are trainers in the Empire for beginning and advanced chunks of the necro spell and skill sets.

As far as I know, the empire historically has an issue against necromancers and sprites.

That is correct, yet sometimes Knightlords showed more linience to necromancers, depending on the status of the Bright Star and it's needs.

Now as far as Necromancer class go, I'd suggest Aghelia - Northern Wastes or Teron - Uxmaln. Though in the second choice you'd have to travel up north to learn spells, but the area is generaly more neutral.

Choosing such a class though is bound to bring you problems as a newbie. Necros are weak a solo characters, unless you learn how to play them right, and to do that you'd need some good SK knowledge.

Want to try something friendly? Try a gray aura Cleric and bring him about in Zhenshi or Uxmaln. That would be more newbie friendly since more people would choose to help you, in order to be helped in turn.

Looking for something more simple? Try barbarian or mercenary, gray again from Uxmaln.

These were my 2 cents. Hope I helped some.
