I notice I'm never getting the full rapid fire from a scout - the helpfile states you need to keep arrows in your inventory for this to work. I assume this means arrows in your quiver don't get fired as a rapid shot?

I'm pretty sure arrows in a quiver still count. Don't forget that both arrows and bow have different speed modifiers. If you aren't using a quick combination, you may not be eligible for extra attacks.

I had a griffon scout once and he was pretty cool but I found out there were only hunting and longbows in the game for griffons and I guess even with battle arrows which are nearly the fastest if not the fastest that I could not get my rapid shot off making it a very useless skill for a griffon scout and then I think it was Achernar put griffon short-bows in the game and I mastered it quickly.

So...

Does it only work for short-bows and hand-crossbows?

Might wana check it out a lil bit...or reword the helpfile.

There's another bowtype it works with as well.

Well archery bows suck too.

Just the helpfile says if you can get all your attacks you can get another one. That isn't true.

Uh...yes it is.

If you succeed in getting 3 NORMAL shots a round from whatever bow/arrow you're using, you are 'eligible' to get a fourth in during that round. Doesn't mean it will always happen.

Well with my griffon "eligible" ment never.

Maybe it is better when it is mastered and you can actually get the rapid shot with a longbow... never used it. Shortbow was good enough for me, and I had claws of doom anyway..
