Hi again.

So I'm wondering, if you're a GM, can you still gain XP? I know you can tick off enlights only at that point, but is there a way to gain XP elsewise? I was at 'just found area', and then after leading a group around for training, all of a sudden I was familiar. Is this a bug?

Thanks!

Your friendly neighborhood newb,
Alifer.

A good question - I don't think you can find any areas that'll give you XP for discovering them at GM.

Embarrassingly, I can't remember whether you can tick off XP at GM. I don't think you can except by enlights, but you're right, you can certainly still get XP from kills. This will help you if you need to flee out of fights and so forth, so you're not continually losing and regaining GM status.

I'm pretty sure that's right. But I'm not sure sure.

I must have an amazing amount to be able to move up to 'you are familiar' then, since most of the time I just drag people around for healing :) Thanks!

Did it specifically say "You are familiar," or did it specifically say "Your groupmate has become familiar?"

I was under the impression that you cannot get exp except by enlightenment after GM. This seemed like a recent change because I used to quest after GM just to get a level stacked up in case of e-drain, fleeing, or getting life barring resurrections. Seems like this isn't an option anymore and I save all those quests for nothing. :P

Getting enlights shouldn't affect your familiarity with any area, nor should discovering and whatnot either. I believe Alifer's point is that regardless of what group members he might have, it's usually his familiarity (used to be just discovered) that counts, since it's the lowest on there that dominates. And now his familiarity has jumped to "familiar" even though he hasn't done any damage at all to an Arot'xlotl or anything, and has never been to said area before he actually GM'ed.

Healing other PCs in your group gives good XP as well.

Oh I see. It's odd that your gaining familiarity at GM, since you aren't getting exp... It doesn't really affect anything though, since you can't level off of NPCs anyway. Still odd though.
