Probably asked before, but I can't seem to find it on the forum search... I'm trying to refrain with my newest character to refrain from killing as much as possible (at least against fellow humanoid). However, I'm not quite sure HOW to get loot/items off of them without killing them. Much less see what's on them after they're knocked out. Is there even a way? =) Thanks in advance. |

Roll a rogue. Save that...make a lighty and just request everything. How do you level without killing anything humanoid? |

It was my understanding you get the XP per blow, so long as they can fight back (ie. Not missing arms), not for the actual kill (and by humanoid, I meant the playable races. Goblins and the like are fair game far as I care). Maybe I'll just try this "requesting" jazz all those other lighties seem so keen on... |

As far as I know there's no way to see what a stunned person is carrying, but you can take things from them with take or get: >take gold citizen |

Alrighty, thanks. A little off topic, but I tried making an Empire character once, but for the life of me I couldn't figure out where the other Drill Sergeant was the one in the middle kept ranting about. The Commandant said nothing to me, either. Did I just overlook something? |

Aww! I think that's the one you meet when you FIRST created your character. Ignore that sergeant. He's just making a comment. |

The drill sergeant is giving you an option to be automatically transported to Menegroth. You have to go to the commander and ask something like, "I'd like a pass to town, sir!" and he'll give you a pass and tell you to hand it to the mage at the entrance of the barracks and she'll transport you to Menegroth. There's really no point to it however. Menegroth is very close, and there's little reason to go there as a newbie. However it is a good idea to take note how the key word system works. Many of the quests available in Pyrathia works on a similar system where you have to say a certain word to trigger the next bit of information from the NPC. For example: "Hello adventurer, would you like to do a task for me?" You ask, "A task?" "Oh yes! I'd like you to go to the city and buy me an item." "Which item?" "A cloak from a shop keep" "Which shop keep?" "Fred, of course! Now off you go!" As others said, if you're playing a lightie you can request equipment, but the NPCs must also be lighties and not higher level than you (request help file. If you're not a lightie or the item you want is not on a lightie, you can stun the NPC and attempt to take it from them. However, some items do "rot" (disappear) on stun. But coin doesn't. At the very least you can collect coin to buy yourself any armor or weapons you need. I've tried to play a similar character, but got frustrated pretty quickly. So good luck! |

He's actually talking about a new quest set in that area. I would ignore the legionnaire for just a bit and level off of the lower end NPCs there. After you get some skills trained, though, you can look around for him. He's a bit hard to find the first time around, but I promise he's there and you can get to him. The food vender there is sort of hard to get to as well. I might idea log a change in what the NPC says to include a general direction toward the sergeant and to maybe extend the quest to include finding the food vender. EDIT: For clarity. |

Hmm. Maybe I need to roll a character there to check this out. I guess it's been changed since I was last there. |

Or you could just...you know...go there with your current character and check it out. :p |
