Post subject: | Noob Question: Bash |
I understand it works as a spell interrupt, and can make targets easier to hit (I think), but I'm a little unclear on what else it does... 1. Does it do any damage at all? 2. Sometimes I just knock the wind out of them, while other times I send them sprawling... Is there a difference, and if so, what? 3. Does bashing a door down have a practical use, or is it mainly for RP purposes? I guess I could force a locked door with it, but keys haven't seem to hard to find. |

1. Yes, to a greater or lesser extent depending on a number of factors. Blunt-weakness races like halflings and sprites will take more damage, for example. Heavily armored targets may have their armor negate the damage effect. At the moment, it also increases the damage your enemy takes from attacks. 2. The sprawl effect is what causes "spell interuption." Basically, that lags your target out for a little longer than you yourself are lagged. This prevents any sort of action on their part whatsoever, such as spell casting, quaffing vials, command-based attacks like disarm/blitz, etc. 3. Not all doors have keys, or getting the keys may be for whatever reason impossible at that time. In that case, bash can work. A lot of hidden doors/walls/etc can be bashed as well, and that is in a lot of cases the only way to open such passages. |

Thanks a ton for the help! =) I think I have a pretty good handle on how the Mercenary class works now. Course it'll be a lot of trial and effort until I eventually make one worthy of the brutal PvP I hear so much about. |

Do NOT rush to specialize in your weapons, my noob friend. That is all. |

Wasn't planning on it. Speaking of specialize, any suggestions? |

I think that's rather crossing the boundaries of what can be discussed in these forums. .com/index.php?topic=39.0]This thread may be able to help you come to a decision. |
