I rolled a gnome priest and found that the information the gnome help file to be a bit lacking. The only physical description available is that they're shorter than dwarves. It mentions nothing on skin, eye, or hair color.

The other problem was there was no information on roleplay or cultural life of a gnome to base your RP on.

I've been playing my gnome based mainly on my knowledge of D&D gnomes. Witty, sarcastic, curious, easily-excitable, and a certain child like mischief. My question is, am I roleplaying correctly at all or even close to it?

If D&D gnomes were a cupcake, and Dragonlance gnomes were a handful of sprinkles...

Gnomes have the best wis in the game, which can definitely benefit certain aspects of your list. I had quite a bit of fun playing my "sprite-like" gnome a while back and I think many around enjoyed her. But that's not to say you can't play an ultra-serious (banish the thought) deep-thinker. The stat distribution definitely allows for that.

As far as appearance goes, I just think normal human and remember three feet tall. That seems to work well. What does a normal human look like? Pale skin, black as coal skin, 500 pounds, 97 pounds, etc, etc. Just package what you want in a three foot frame.

The best answer is really that you can play them exactly how you see fit. SK isn't really about many restrictions, and no matter what you do, there will be people who love it and people who hate it. Simply create a mental image of this personality and run with it. Do whatever amounts to the most fun for you.

As far as how they look, I always imagine them with round faces and big, bulbous noses, but there isn't much of a standard. They have to be short, but outside of that, the only limits are your imagination. As with personalities, there are more and less accepted views, and not everyone will agree or disagree with whatever you do.

You should explore the Lower Craeftilin well. That area is one of the most amazing areas in SKs, all information that you need in every detail regarding gnome culture is in there. So many parallel and quest-side stories going on in there. So much documentation that it's almost amazing. Wert's masterpiece.

I agree, I actually always hate gnomes and sprites, I refuse to play them!
