It's uhh, been the same for a while.

Fight opposite aura NPCs. Train CHA if necessary. Low charisma really really hurts, from what I've seen. Fighting the same alignment hurts much worse.

Oh, and don't feel bad about grinding areas into red familiarity, if they're good areas. That's pretty much it.

First of all, learn the good areas. Always use the good areas up to red familiarity regardless of your aura(ok, no lightie vs lightie of course). Then all you need is patience.

I gree. When I came back it seemed like it was slow as crap. Like D_A said learn of all the good levelling areas and burn through them. It takes more exploring than it used to, but once you get it down it's just as fast as it's always been.

I've tried to come back once more since I manage to get away from RL issues for an hour or two...Yet, lvling takes far too much time and yes there is a great difference with the XP gain back in the day.

It seems that you need to spend too much time on the lvling department, to even begin RPing.

There are so many quests out there to break the monotony of leveling that I it surprises me to hear such remarks. Sure area familiarity no longer lets you stay in the same area grinding for five levels but a)There are many more places than there used to b)There are quests in these areas to compensate for the familiarity code.

Nashira, do you actually play characters in the game?

And there is that wandering around discovering areas can indeed give an exp. boost. Go exploring and finding areas where you can take advantage of the bonus xp. :) Some areas may not be 'ideal' but I've found empty nooks and taken advantage the 'recently discovered' thing for a level or two. I don't see what the point of complaining that you can't sit in an area for 5+ levels anymore to level.. To me that sounds positively dull. Secondly, RP can start at level 1, but it's your perogative to plevel up there, don't then complain at higher levels there's nothing to do/no point to exploring the game. Much of the story of your character can be built as you level. *shrugs*

I'm so tired of saying this its not even funny.

Leveling has only gotten easier over the years. Period.

Leveling doesn't take longer, your patience to level is just shorter the more experienced you get with SK.

Lakir is 100% on that one. Levelling used to be the same boring thing and it took you 200 hours to get GM back in the day. For a short while Dulrik made it done in 15-20 hours, then he got it up again a bit. Nowadays it's easy to hit GM in 50 hours if you know what you are doing, much less if you have friends to help you. But even if you don't know and you generally follow some guidelines and RP to get assistance, you can still do it in less than 80 hours too easily.
