To be blunt, deep-elves get raped any time they get any sort of damage. Especially sorcerors. On top of the physical weakness, there's: color spray-blindness which really really sucks (since you can't even reach into your pack and get out that pesky little cure blindness herb/potion). Bolt of Glory which is pure murder, since often you can't even escape. Iron/cold iron weakness which, admittedly doesn't really matter much, since pretty much anything with an edge can tear a delf sorc apart like a piece of old paper. Now, I'm not going to [REDACTED] about all these weaknesses (more than I already have), but I would like a few decent methods to prevent death in the first pk round because someone felt like bringing a battle-spear or a rogue with a sharp stick. |

I am one of those who believe that deep-elves should get a slight relief of all those vulnerabilities they suffer from. |

Mirror image(scribed at the free powerful scrolls so you won't keep it casted yourself - you still get 5 images anyway that last forever) to avoid backstabs. Consider spam using some of the many store bought staves/wands of stone skin also. 3rd row always should prevent any melee contact with you. Ranged combat with iron weapons now... If you see this, get ironguard. Last I checked there were staves and you can keep a potion with you all the time anyway. The moment ranged combat with iron arrows starts, quaff it. On spells now, you are given the awesome spell called enchant armor. This spell, added with certain water full suits that start at mod MP/refl, can allow you to easily get 50 MP and 40 refl, enough to usually laugh at color spray and BoG(if you add the shield spell on top of these). Or simply use pieces that have MR on them and try to built them up to 6+ MR per piece, then get spell ward and have almost complete spell immunity. Know that if a spell goes through your MR though, you will be in pain. And last but not least, etherealform scrolls/wands. If things get tough(and you have nimbus from BoG for example), go ethereal. PS: Delf high int means you can easily keep two charmies for PK situations or one charmie and still do lots of things. |

Thank you Dark-Avenger. As for buying the mount and charm, I think you overlooked the Rogue-with-sharp-stick point, Osterich. Edit: It's nice enough being able to stand in the back row, but it's even nicer to be able to not-die from two gaping holes in the back. |

Just a quick question about Etherealform. If you go Ethereal, can spells such as holy word and dispel still damage you / cancel ethereal? |

Don't you hate it when someone answers "obviously" to a question? Yes they can dispel you and holy word can dispel you. You can also dispel people from etherealform which is always fun |

Honestly, the best way to survive as a deep elf is to polymorph into another race when pk'ing. The really really really best way is to hide and never pk. |
