Is it possible to reach a high level entirely by casting spells on yourself? I was wondering if I could just cast something like "armor" or "cure light" on myself over and over again while doing my homework to get to a decent level. Thanks! |

There is a timer activated when casting not combat spells, so you can get up to a certain amount of XP per hour(or so) from every not combat spell. And that's a small chunk, let's say about 1/10 of the possible xp you could get if this didn't exist. So you can still get up to GM using enchant or spamming sanctuary/gate for example, just don't expect that to be a very fast way to do it. |

Also make sure that you are not botting your character. Even if you are spamming spells, you should be on keyboard. ( see rule No 5 ) |

The passive XP timer resets every hour? I thought it was more like twice a day. |

I am not sure if anyone can confirm this but I thought that this was there was a limit per IC hour. Is that not the case? |

Per IC Hour? You realize that is ~ a minute real life time right? I'm not sure if we'll get a definite answer on this one... |

Per tick/~ hour, each time a non-combat spell is recast there is an increasingly diminishing return on experience gained to discourage 'spam casting' to level. Additionally, just as there is no gain in attempting to heal that which is already in perfect health, there is no exp. gain either. Exp gained by spell casting is also related to the level of the spell & its relative relation to your own level. Exp is gained only on succesful casts. Miniscule exp is gained when improving on a spell (just as any skill). |
