So, I was running through a town. I ran by an NPC, who said something. I had places to be, so I let it by. Turns out, when I check my "quest" log, it says I started a quest from that guy. I scroll up to see what he said, but the window has a text limit, and I lost his instructions forever. I know where he is, (am standing in front of him, even,) but I don't know how to get him to talk. Is there a way to de-activate a quest, or start it over, or ask him to repeat what he said? |

Pray up if you get the chance, or buglog it. We can and have reset quests for individuals. |

This is also something that I hope immortals will fix when they see it happen. Ideally a quest would not start until you'd actually acknowledged them by saying 'yes' or something of that sort. |

It doesn't hurt to ask other characters what the NPC might have wanted. |

That'd be an awkward conversation: Newbie: Hey what does this guy want from me? Mentor: Which guy? Newbie: That one guy who shouts random things at people who walk by. I wasn't paying attention at first, but have the sudden urge to do whatever he had requested of me in his ramblings. Mentor: Really? Well, why don't you just ask him again. Newbie: I tried, now he doesn't seem to want to talk to me anymore. Mentor: Maybe he's mad that you ignored him. Maybe he doesn't want you to do anything for him anymore. I think you should leave the poor guy alone. Or maybe buy him flowers. Newbie: Is that what he wanted? Flowers? Mentor: I dunno. Couldn't hurt. |

Use TYPO. Quest scripts should recognise people who haven't completed them, and nudge them along with some kind of explanation of where they are up to. |

My Taslamaran character arrived in Zhenshi at Initiate and merely walked into the presence of the newbie weapon trainer there, and was automatically put on the "Broken Tusk" quest, despite the fact that I'll never be able to finish that quest since I am neither Zhenshi nor a newbie. |
