I've never been into the religions on SK, so I've never rolled a hellion or any of the clergy classes. Which spells and abilities will I be unable to use (hellion) until Inducted into a religion? |

If I recall correctly, you can use all skills, and all spells initiate level and under. |

Yes, your spellset is restricted to initiate and below. The skills are not at all affected. Fortunately for you, Religious Leaders are pretty much not allowed to turn anyone away from a religion, so . . . you'll get in as soon as you run into a clergyman of the faith you seek. |

Caveat for the truly new player: Hellions and Paladins can only join the faiths marked for them on the help gods list. Just thought I would through that out there so someone does not have their hearts set on a religion that can't accept them. |

Hi Rodney! Are you playing again? Sorry to derail the thread. But what everyone else has said. I'm surprised you've never been in a religion - almost all of my characters are in religions. It makes the game a lot more enriching for me. |

Alshain, Dulrik and Ain accept Paladins. Sargas, Algorab and Ain accept Hellions. There is also a "rule" that Clergy classes (Priests, Hellions, Paladins) -NEED- to be inducted ASAP. If high followers want to give them the run around with rituals or collecting items or other quests that will take more than one meeting - that is to be done AFTER induction. Induction and insta-blemish is not allowed as means to get around this. |

I apply this rule to anyone seeking a faith that I can induct to, no matter what class they play. If they willingly give their soul to a god and screw up, that is what blemish is for. My rules of thumb, do your homework before and make sure the faith fits with your character concept, don't go to multiple faiths and accept a "back-up" plan, make sure your RP lines up with at least one of the aspects of the faith (all of them would be best). Rennus, thanks for posting the H/P religions, I was too lazy to go grab them and for some reason was blanking on them. Must need more coffee, a vacation or sleep. |
