Post subject:  Enchants

Just a quick question about enchants. At a certain point, do more enchantments stop helping? For example, maybe 40 willpower is the same as 80 willpower, which would be good to know.

Thanks in advance.

I would think something like the difference between stopping 90% of spells directed at you and stopping 95% of spells directed at you. That is to say, not much.

Also, holy [REDACTED] 80 willpower would be amazing.

I don't think there is a cap on enchantments of that sort: Though there is always -some- chance that a spell cast against you will succeed. Because of that, the actual percentage difference between charm person succeeding on someone with 40 willpower vs. that same person with 80 willpower might not be that different at all.

The questions is, at what point does enough become enough.

Yup, that's my next question, actually. At what point do the vets/serious pkers stop worrying about it? Somewhere between 30 and 40?

The numbers thrown at me by a self-proclaimed enchant [REDACTED] were 40 protection, 35 willpower, 30 fortitude, and 25 reflex.

To my understanding, 120 total enchants counts as "considerable." 160 total enchants counts as "daaaaayuuum."

Yeah, what he said: In particular I'd -love- to have that 120 enchant suit that Prince is talking about, but typically that just isn't feasible. As you're playing a sorceror, you can even try out your own suit by casting sleep on yourself a few times to see how things work (Though self-testing color spray or petrification is a bit more on the extreme side of things)

On that note, a word of caution: One screw-up in PvP and all that enchanting will not only be taken from you, but might even be destroyed outright. I'd encourage you to enchant a decent suit and then carry some recalls with you and get involved in PvP before working on enchanting a perfect suit: It's extremely discouraging to put hours upon hours into a suit just to die to a tactic you didn't even know was possible.

20 enchants on everything is typically enough to keep you alive, although it won't withstand a severe battering. The more you know.

Bah. I say that you don't need enchantments.

Keep in mind that I'm considered a permanoob.

Thanks for all the input, guys.
Oh, and you can't actually petrify yourself. I found this out when I was mastering my spells.
