How much int is needed for a charm and gate?

ROFL!

As always, grep ftw!

To be serious for a moment, I don't think you're going to get a straight answer out of most people. Remember that you play a game that tries very hard so steer away from numbers.

However........if you want a good estimate from my point of view, I usually say 20 is a good number. 20 is usually not too low, yet it's not too high where you are wasting attribute points.

I am a numbers junkie due to me being so obsessive compulsive. I can't help it. I will do my best from here on out, though. Numbers do not exist.......lol

I find it incredibly hilarious that someone wants to figure out the minimum requirements to make swift use of the most abusive spell in the game in the newbie help forum instead of somewhere else.

It doesn't take much intelligence at all to charm and gate. In fact, if someone had more intelligence, they'd consider ways to get around having to cast gate entirely.

I have 22 int and I can't cast gate while holding a charm (while standing at least). That's why I'm asking. And I'm asking in the newbie section because I thought perhaps that was something everyone who played a sorc should know, hence I considered myself a newb on the subject.

Fair enough.

However, it seems to me you're going to need to play a deep-elf to do what you want, and even that might not work. Sorry.

I'll just say with Ailee, she can hold a charm, one detect, and make a gate while sitting.

I handled charm+gate as a human just fine. The spell could have been modified, or you might have been modified. I'm not sure. They don't publish updates around here.

Really though, you should just scribe your gate.

Good idea. I didn't think of that. This is probably why I play adventure classes the most.

Relying on gate scrolls every time you want to gate with a charm is a pretty serious way to waste a crapton of time.
