What the word these days on Magical Vestment affecting griffon/centaur fur? Posts from a few years back seem sketchy. ATM doesn't seem to help my Griffon. I know the help files says only items that can be worn/tailored but i remember stories of pets being MV'd. |

99% sure MV doesn't help pets or centaurs/griffons/minotaurs/giants. Only helps clothing. Those who said otherwise didn't actually do significant testing and just convinced themselves it might. |

MV certainly helps pets with the appropriate natural hide types. Don't you remember the lion bug? |

The lion bug had nothing to do with MV. |

Armor, MV, whatever. They all work. Want proof? MV your lion and have it fight something with an energy weapon. Observe whether or not its hide takes damage. If it does, it is not vested. |

I'm pretty sure that as long as the <worn on body> fur/flesh/leather hide is present in your (Or a NPCs) armor listing, that MV will help. That is, of course, almost completely conjecture. |

a naked giant with mastered toughness and MV is wearing a full suit of energy. Is this a correct statement? |

It is not known how <worn as armor> hide compares with the kind of "invisible" hide that players have. Toughness, however, does provide the equivalent benefits of high quality armor. A naked giant with toughness mastered is never really naked: she's wearing toughness. The toughness help file states that toughness does not stack with hide nor equipped armor, however. In this case, both of the things that MV benefits would not stack. You would essentially have a situation where toughness grants you good armor class as well as your buffed equipment (or, allegedly, hide.) In other words, you have good and good options, not a good+good one. |

Actually, I agree. I think what I meant was I'm 99% sure it doesn't help PCs. I tested with griffons and centaurs in time (though nothing statistical). Pets I never cared enough about when armor buffed them beyond all recognition. |

Magical Vestments, in my opinion doesn't work on anything that isn't listed as armor, and even then it only would work on things that can be fixed at a tailor. That's just a guess btw. |
