Do you still get experience for doing this? I didn't see it mentioned in the help files for experience or brew/scribe.

You do, and it's still capped.

You only get X amount of exp from it per in-game day. I don't know the exact tick count at what levels. It's the same cap as non-combat experience, I believe, so if you're getting exp from gating, rezzing, etc, it's going to count towards the same exp limit as brewing or scribing.

I think it might have been one or two ticks per day?

Couldn't tell you for sure, and I think it'll change based on level since ticks are not static exp amounts as you get higher in status.
