Post subject:  Rogue bard scouts and art.
Is it ever worth training it. Does art affect songs/cords, is it worth anything with scrolls or are you better off using scrolls for out of combat stuff. There are very few staves for scouts to make use of art is it ever worth it for them?

So the question is, is it ever worth an adventure class training art over anything else?

Scouts can use staves??

Trained 3 art on my bard, probably wasn't necessary since it isn't enough to land any scroll spells that are affected by saves, so I use utility scrolls only. The same might be said of rogues, though I suppose somone could forego something else to train enough art to give someone a nice surprise with a scroll-reading rogue?

Scouts lost access to staves in 2004 - the 9/26/2004 Code Update. I would definitely train 6 art (cap for scrolls) as a rogue, since reciting scrolls will be your most powerful weapon in PK against non-newbie opponents.

So rogues not bards? Im assuming this is to the extra stats bards need and having less reliance on scrolls for PKing experienced people.

I don't think songs are affected by art, which are your bread and butter as a bard - so I wouldn't train art.

There are at least 2 songs that art affects, songs of dancing and now as of the last bard update the songs of antimagic for the dispelling effect. Unfortunately, bards have too many other stats to get first, ie all, before they get art. Other people might have a different build case though.

Oh... D we need Dark Elf BARDS!

[edit] Just remembered two other songs that have a save that art will 'help' f minor, and b aug.

F Minor and B Augmented Sixth are power chords and not songs.

You are being hyper technical since it was asked if it worked for songs/chords and not just songs.

A power chord is not a song and vice versa. I am not certain how that is hyper-technical. Terminology is important - especially for newbies that are learning the game.

Apparently, since songs of sleep is not affected by art, I stand by my original advice for bards, Cordance - I wouldn't train art. This is by far your most powerful song for both PvE and PK.
