So if a sorc character polymorphs into another being, do they wear the 'hide' of that being as armor too? Or are they basically armorless? I'm really confused about how that works and there's not much IC that explains it. I know we have to be careful what is said OOC, but can anyone at least give me a general idea of how this works? |

Yes you gain their hide I believe as well as their innate abilities, poly into a giant = leather hide plus you can bash doors down. Keep in mind that your max intelligence cap will be lowered if you polymorph into less intelligent races. If you polymorph into a giant sized race or a race two sizes away, all gear you are wearing that is for example medium sized, will not be able to be worn unless it is resized. |

Dragons for instance, can't wear armor. Nor can cats, foxes, or monsters I beleive. At least if you poly into them |

Is it only your racial caps that will change with regards to polymorph? I see reference to the stat caps changing but I'm curious about that because I ask why would you have a lower capped intelligence if you were a mage taking the shape of a giant? (It's still your mind isn't it?) Conversly do your physical stats remain the same? I understand that inates, and resistances, change. Is there anything else? Does your race change on the who list for other people? |

If you poly into a playable race, it shows that on the who list. Your new stat caps get changed to the max of the race you've polymorphed into. It may be your mind still, but it's stuffed into a giant's malfunctioning hardware. Doesn't matter if you have the most advanced AI programming in the history of everything if you only have a Game Boy to run it on, it's still going to suck. That includes physical stats. You don't get free points just for polymorphing, but you could, say, mod your strength up to that of a giant. |

Thanks for the answer! Another thought came to me: Does it work like a disguise with regards to crimes? |

Yes, similar to disguise, polymorph does not protect you from being reported for crimes. Not positive I interpreted the question right - does that answer what you were asking? |

It also won't prevent you from being detected if you're a criminal. |

All of certain types also have True Seeing, if that isn't revealing too much. Sera, I noticed you're a member of a certain wiki. How would you feel about the whole official wiki thing going around in other threads, as one of our relatively newest newbies? |
