There's a reason it's called FINAL Strike...

It's not your everyday spell.
There must be a reason behind casting it, if ever.
Sorcerors are balanced and quite fine as they are now.

All in all, either leave it be or remove it entirely. We have beated the crap out of this dead horse over and over and over and over and over and over again... It's now reduced into a smear of blood and nothing more..

You have perfectly explained the use of final strike, and that's why it is useless. So far all I'm seeing is a vocal minority speaking up in favor of the spell, but when you look at the votes most people don't really want it around.

Not entirely sure I agree with that interpretation. I, and judging from the posts several others, don't mind FS being taken out, but we also don't mind it staying. None of the options listed initially fit, as I certainly do care if the spell is replaced with something far more useful, but I don't really mind if it is just taken out without replacement.

In the end, it's all about balance. Sorcs are plenty strong and plenty popular as is.

You are right. I never thought people would just want to loose the spell with nothing in return. I'll see if I can edit the poll.

They did perfectly explain final strike to sorceror's. "Sorcerors are balance and quite fine as they are now."

SK Character: Briner, Senach, Myson, others.
I remember two final strikes in my five or six years playing. WhenI first started, FS was used almost constantly whenever a wedding ceremony was taking place, including one I attended. There was little RP (though it was an adept FSing a Lighty wedding) before or after, and it just pissed off a lot of people.

The second one was this one time when the MC (or maybe adepts, Falicis and maybe Inidil and someone with Matron Ventaro, plus some others...) attacked Sith'a'niel. I played Cian, in the Knights of Selkwood... and Camby, Kazan, and Furil were about, defending.

The battle wasnt going well. I died, and Furil died. I got returned quickly, and went to grab my corpse. I got it, and when I went back to the city gates, (which I had heard kazan say they were going to over CB) I found like, five MC bodies, the matron's body, Kazan's, and perhaps Camby's... I do not recall. I was totally confused... and then kazan told the story of Camby giving his life for his kingdom, and his people. (Camby was titled King of Sith'a'neil)

It was the perfect RP for the character, and the perfect use of the spell. It is the epic spell that Benzo mentions, and that was one of the most memorable times I've played this game. So, yes. I think the spell should stay.

God, I ramble.

Keep Final Strike around. Why? It's one of the few spells around that can wreck havoc on a wide scale.

You haven't heard a [REDACTED] fest until some Sorc final strikes and wipes out 10+players fully enchanted kits. Talk about leveling the playing field.

As far as the abuseability goes? Oh well? That's what the immortal intervention clause is there for. The reason for using FS doesn't have to be a good one, it just has to be an IC one. Anyone using it for OOC reasons and unlucky enough to get an IMM with a BS meter will simply get placed in semi-timeout indefinately.

Trust me, if final striking to take the fun up to the gods is a valid excuse, damn near any is.

One hell of a Kegger though.

If you want to wimp the spell, Dulrik could theoretically spend 11 minutes coding in that you can't be following anyone before you cast it - that would be a huge wimp to the power of FS while still being reasonable.

I personally can't stand FS, but it does make city invasions (my favorite thing) more interesting.
