I think that as a master of Plague, a necro should be able to control it enough to remove it from a person, or transfer it. If a sorc can depetrify, a necro should be able to deplague...

[Spells help] death shroud

Syntax: cast 'death shroud'

The most basic of spells, death shroud is also by far one of the most
useful to the necromancer. This spell wraps the necromancer's body in an
aura of death, making him appear to the undead as a fellow comrade. While
this will ward the necromancer from an aggressive undead's initial attack,
it will not save him against undead that he has angered.

In addition, death shroud allows the necromancer to unerringly sense
the bodies of the dead, with no regard for layers of earth or darkness. It
also protects against the natural transmission of the plague.

The difference between a sorceror and a necromancer is that a necromancer is a malevolent raiser of the dead, most likely insane or otherwise deranged. Not even remotely good, or capable of good. Curing a disease would be causing a healing effect within the body, which is vaguely good. Sorcerors can be good or evil, so your example is kind of irrelevant.
